Dr Salvatore (Sam) Catania has been working as a psychiatrist since 2009, is a Fellow of the Royal and Australian College of Psychiatrists, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. Dr Sam has worked for a number of public mental health clinics and hospitals throughout his career, and is currently Medical Director for the Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS), as the consultant psychiatrist for their Eating Disorders Service. Dr Sam sees all children, adolescents and adults for a wide range of mental health conditions, including developmental disorders, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, psychosis and behavioural issues. Dr Sam also provides all the necessary medical investigations and medication prescribing for mental health conditions, and is happy to work with other medical, allied health professionals, and schools as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Dr Sam works from a variety of frameworks, especially family therapy and behavioural therapy. He is an accredited Family Based Therapy (FBT) provider for eating disorders, of which he has a special interest in, and is also undergoing accreditation in Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT) for depressed and suicidal adolescents. |

Dr Anja has been working in psychiatry since 1997 across Australia and specialised in child and youth psychiatry in 2004. Anja has extensive experience and interest in Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. She has a special interest in and provides Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, whereby horses help facilitate the psychotherapeutic process. This therapy takes place in an arena with horses — such as at riding schools — and she has seen success with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and communication difficulties with this form of therapy. Dr Anja is trained and certified to use the EAGALA model of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and works together with a qualified Equine Specialist. Dr Nathan is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, who has been working with children and families since 2010. He has worked in north Brisbane and Moreton Bay Regions before he received his psychiatry Fellowship in early 2013. Nathan is able to diagnose and offer treatment for a broad range of mental health and behavioural disturbances occurring from childhood into adult life. He has been trained within a biopsychosocial framework and treatment can cover medical investigations, prescribing medications, and offering varied psychotherapies in an individual, family, or group setting. Dr Nathan has experience in multiple psychotherapies and has an interest in mentalization based therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. |

Dr Michelle is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has worked for multiple public mental health services and hospitals in Brisbane and surrounding areas. She received her medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2006, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2017. Michelle is happy to diagnose and treat children, adolescents and young adults for a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and other mental health issues. This includes undertaking appropriate medical investigations, prescribing and monitoring of medications, and psychotherapy, as well as working with other medical and allied health professionals to provide holistic and supportive care for each young person and their family. Dr Faith is a psychiatrist who completed her medical degree from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. Her areas of research past and present include the following: eating disorders, epilepsy, delirium, anti-neuronal antibody encephalitis, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, and doctors’ well being. She had further certification in child and adolescent psychiatry and hospital psychiatry from infant age to old age, seeing medically unwell patients who also need care for pre-existing mental health issues, or develop new mental health issues because of being unwell in hospital. She can diagnose and treat mental disorders with medications and talking therapy. She takes a holistic view of the person in the context of family, school or work, hobbies, culture, and life experiences. Dr Tania Withington is an accredited mental health social worker and family therapist working with individuals, parent-child dyads, couples, and families across private practice, non-government, and government mental health services for 30years.
